It's safe to say that changes are going to be made this off-season when it comes to the Cleveland Browns. Stuck middling in the basement of a loaded AFC North behind the Pittsburgh Steelers, Baltimore Ravens, and Cincinnati Bengals, it appears that the front office may have to make some uncomfortable decisions.
Star defensive lineman Myles Garrett has already requested a trade and it feels like his time in Cleveland has come to an end. The Browns might be also looking to cut ties with some other players and PFF recently listed a former Virginia Tech offensive lineman as a potential cut candidate.
PFF lists Wyatt Teller as a potential cut candidate this off-season
Wyatt Teller, originally drafted by the Buffalo Bills in the fifth round of the 2018 NFL Draft, spent one season in Western New York before finding a home with the Browns for the 2019 season. He has been a key piece to the offensive line over the last few years, but he declined this season, as did his Cleveland teammates.
Because of that, PFF listed 15 cut candidates this off-season and Teller was on the list. He only scored 62.6% by PFF, which was his lowest since 2019. Combine that with his injury history and it's easy to envision the Browns thinking of cutting ties with their guard. He is scheduled to make $14.2 million in the final year of a four-year, $56.8 million deal in 2025.
Cleveland owns the second overall pick in April's draft in Green Bay and they could use it to get younger along the offensive line, which is a way they could choose to go during their rebuild to being competitive again with the division rivals. In the overall big picture, it's hard seeing the Browns going the route of cutting ties with Teller who has been good when healthy. Stranger things have happened though.
