It can't be stated enough that once Virginia Tech hired James Franklin to replace Brent Pry as head coach in Blacksburg; that was a game-changer in multiple ways. Whether it was the results on the field, it couldn't get any worse than what they were- or off the field when it comes to recruiting.
When it came to the latter, Hokies fans were going to find out quickly just how good Franklin is at recruiting. Even the biggest Penn State trolls would admit just how good he is at recruiting during his time in State College.
ACC fans are also finding out just how well Franklin recruits, and as long as he's in Blacksburg, Virginia Tech is going to be in on some of the top recruits in the country. Rivals released their top-rated commit in the ACC at each position in the Class of 2027, and the Virginia Tech logo made its way onto the list on X.

It really shouldn't come as a surprise that the Miami Hurricanes had the most logos on the graphic, but Virginia Tech was on there at the tight end position after securing a commitment from four-star Jordan Karhoff.

Truth be told, the only reason another Hurricanes logo wasn't on the graphic is because of Franklin. Virginia Tech beat out Miami for a commitment from Karhoff, who hails from Ohio, back in late May.
Don't look now, but according to most outlets, Virginia Tech has at least a Top 25 recruiting class with the rising senior class. That is new territory for Hokies fans considering how tough recruiting has been. However, that is about to change with more resources and Franklin on board.
As well as the results off the field, the results on the field need to translate to wins. Did Franklin open the door for criticism this season by saying the Hokies won the offseason at ACC Media Days last week? Of course he did; however, if there is someone who could back that up, it's Franklin. If he does, the results on the field are going to create even more wins and better results off the field.
