Recruiting in the Class of 2027 is about to take off. One program that is likely going to make waves is Virginia Tech with James Franklin. They already are showing interest in the University of Michigan de-commit quarterback Peter Bourque.

Another quarterback who is generating a lot of interest is Davin Davidson from Sarasota, Fla. The 6-foot-6, 215-pound signal caller is drawing interest from some of the top programs in the country. One of those schools is Virginia Tech, and Davidson is not the only QB opening Franklin's eyes. The Hokies are also in the mix for Class of 2028 quarterback Neimann Lawrence, who is down to 10 schools with Virginia Tech in the mix, according to Hayes Fawcett of Rivals.

As far as Davidson goes, he is generating a lot of interest from Florida and new coach Jon Sumrall. However, Virginia Tech is a program to watch, according to Tyler Harden of 247Sports. Also in the mix are North Carolina, Georgia, Florida State, Auburn, Kentucky, Mississippi State, Iowa, Duke, and Notre Dame.

Davidson recently took home MV honors of the Under Armour NEXT Camp in Orlando and opened more eyes with his performance. As for Lawrence, the 6-foot-1, 205-pound signal caller in the Class of 2028 is already generating a lot of interest, which isn't too surprising.

As for Lawrence, the 6-foot-1, 205-pound signal caller in the Class of 2028 is already generating a lot of interest, which isn't too surprising. Miami is heavily after him since he's right in their backyard, and he should be a priority for Mario Cristobal. If Virginia Tech is going to be in this recruitment, they are going to go up against programs such as Texas, Ohio State, Michigan, Notre Dame, Oregon, and others.

Virginia Tech has five QBs on its roster with Penn State transfer Ethan Grunkemeyer, North Carolina transfer Bryce Baker, incoming freshman Troy Huhn, and two holdovers from last year in freshman Kelden Ryan and A.J. Brand. It's a young room for Franklin in his first season in Blacksburg.
