When the Jacksonville Jaguars selected former Virginia Tech running back Bhayshul Tuten in the fourth round on Day 3 of the 2025 NFL Draft in Green Bay, it was considered a steal for the AFC South organization looking to become a factor in the division again and challenge the Houston Texans.
Tuten has been impressive through the minicamp workouts and early in training camp for the Jaguars, but a recent injury forced him out of practices for a few days. He returned and played his first preseason game on Saturday night for Jacksonville at home against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Tuten is pushing for some playing time in 2025 for the Jaguars, and against Pittsburgh, he made a loud statement, but one that shouldn't surprise Virginia Tech fans.

Early in the fourth quarter and Jacksonville trailing, 25-14 to the Steelers, Tuten took a handoff and hit the hole, only to be stopped initially by Pittsburgh's defense at the 4-yard line, but he kept his legs moving forward and eventually with help from his teammates, he was able to end the play in the end zone for a touchdown.

Tuten finished with six carries for 24 yards for Jacksonville in their 31-25 loss, but Tuten's run will be talked about. But again, that was something that Hokies' fans are used to watching. As fans saw during his two years in Blacksburg, he's a small back, but he's built tough and he's tougher to bring down. Just ask Pittsburgh.
At the time of his selection, he was considered a steal in the draft, and he has done nothing to dispute that notion early in training camp. Jacksonville fans will fall in love with him like Virginia Tech fans did, and a few more runs like that, and he'll be carrying the ball a lot more in 2025.
