To say that there was a weight lifted off the shoulders of the Virginia Tech men's basketball team and head coach Mike Young on Thursday night, would be a major understatement. Losers of six straight, including a five-point loss to nationally ranked Pittsburgh in the ACC opener last Saturday in what would have been a great win, the Hokies finally got into the win column for the first time in a month.

Virginia Tech got 55 bench points and contributions from nearly their entire roster in a 95-67 victory over North Carolina A&T at Cassell Coliseum Thursday night to improve to 4-6 in the season. Now, they get another chance Sunday afternoon to inch closer to evening their record when they play their final home game before the Christmas Break.

The Hokies will be looking to make it two wins in a row on Sunday afternoon when they host Navy in the first game of a doubleheader that will see the women face Radford later in the day. Here is the viewing guide for the Hokies and Midshipmen.

  • Date: Saturday, Dec. 15
  • Time: 12 p.m.
  • Venue: Cassell Coliseum
  • How to Watch: ACC Network Extra
  • Virginia Tech Record: 4-6
  • Navy Record: 3-6

This is a game that Virginia Tech should win if we're being honest. Navy comes into the game on a three-game losing streak and off a loss to NJIT, 69-64, last Saturday. They also have losses to Maine, Rider, Campbell, Quinnipiac, and Elon. The Hokies will need another balanced scoring effort to win and they hope to stay hot from behind the 3-point line after draining 14 against North Carolina A&T Thursday night. After this game, Virginia Tech will have six days before playing their final non-conference game on Dec. 21 against Saint Joseph's.
