How to Watch Virginia Tech Men's & Women's Basketball ACC/SEC Challenge
By Scott Roche
For the second straight season, the ACC/SEC Challange on the basketball court is this week. For the second straight year, the Hokies women’s team will be on the road after losing at LSU last year, while the men will be at Cassell Coliseum hosting the event for the first time after losing at Auburn last season.
The Challenge got underway on Tuesday, but both Virginia Tech teams will play on Wednesday night with the women at Georgia and the men hosting Vanderbilt. Here is the information to watch both games.
How to watch Virginia Tech vs. Georgia Women’s Basketball
First-year coach Megan Duffy and the Hokies’ women will play at an early start time of 5 p.m. at Georgia in Athens. The game will be broadcast on the SEC Network on the ESPN platform, which means it’s also available to be streamed on the app and ESPN.com.
Georgia enters the game at 5-4, while Virginia Tech is 6-2 and coming off an 11-point loss to Michigan in the Championship Game of the Fort Myers Tip-Off on Saturday night. This is a game that the Hokies must win on the road if they have visions of going to the NCAA Tournament as a loss here against an SEC team that is struggling would be considered a bad loss.
How to watch Virginia Tech vs. Vanderbilt Men’s Basketball
Mike Young and the Hokies will be returning to the friendly confines of Cassell Coliseum on a four-game losing streak. This game will begin at 9:15 p.m. and be broadcast on the ACC Network and like the women, it will be streamed on the ESPN app and ESPN.com.
Vanderbilt is off to a strong start this season at 7-1 and Virginia Tech transfer Tyler Nickel is having a good season in his first season in Nashville. Also returning to Blacksburg with the Commodores is MJ Collins. This is going to be another tall order for the Hokies this season.
