After an 11-day break from game action, the Virginia Tech women's basketball team will resume its 2025-26 schedule on Thursday night at Cassell Coliseum against Miami. After going 10-2 in non-conference play, Megan Duffy's team has 16 ACC games remaining to build an NCAA Tournament résumé after being the first team left out of the field last season.
Virginia Tech is currently 1-1 in ACC play after dropping its conference opener last month at home to Duke before picking up their first win in league play a couple of weeks later at Florida State. The Hurricanes have played well to begin the season and will give the Hokies a tough challenge at home.

This is a game that Virginia Tech needs to win to get off to a good start in conference play. After this, they will visit Louisville on Sunday and then travel to Syracuse next week. Picking up a second ACC win at home in this game is almost a must. Nelson has been very good this year running the point for the Hokies, and it allows Baker to play off the ball and get up more shots. Baker has been good the last couple of games, while Daley and Freelon are two transfers who have made a big impact already for Duffy.
