The Virginia Tech women's basketball team will be looking to rebound from a 73-65 loss to Virginia on Sunday afternoon when they host Louisville at Cassell Coliseum. The game will be in the backdrop with the log-awaited retirement of Elizabeth Kitley's No. 33 to the rafters.

Kitley spoke recently as to what her greatest accomplishment at Virginia Tech was and it's only fitting that Cassell will be sold out on Sunday.

Kitley's ceremony aside, this is a huge game for Megan Duffy and her team. Currently the last team into the NCAA Tournament field according to Charlie Creme of ESPN, this would be a resume-building victory.

Date: Sunday, Jan. 19
Time: 4:00 p.m.
Venue: Cassell Colsieum
How to Watch: ACC Network, ESPN.com, ESPN+ or FuboTV
Virginia Tech Record: 12-5 (3-3 ACC)
Louisville Record: 13-5 (6-1 ACC)

This isn't going to be an easy rebound game for Virginia Tech. Louisville comes in on a seven-game winning streak and playing some of the best basketball in the conference. They are coming in off a win over Georgia Tech at home Thursday night.

Virginia Tech will have to defend better than they did against Virginia and limit the turnovers. Their offense went dry in the second and third quarters behind a tough Cavaliers defense and the visitors used some of the Hokies' turnovers for easy baskets. Establishing Rose Micheaux on the inside would be helpful in opening up the shooters from the outside.

This game will close out a three-game home stand for Virginia Tech and dropping two out of three after huge road wins at Miami and Georgia Tech would definitely be deflating. This is going to be a special afternoon in Blacksburg for Liz Kitley.
