Virginia Tech women's basketball coach Megan Duffy has picked up a pair of commitments in the rising senior class over the last couple of weeks. She has commitments from Kaleo Anderson and Arianna Harris-Mott, which is a solid start to the class.
The fall will be very busy in terms of visitors and commitments, and on Friday, one of the top recruits in the class released her Top 9 schools, and Duffy and Virginia Tech were on the list.
Virginia Tech makes Top 9 for Class of 2026 power forward Missy Odom
One of the top prospects in the Class of 2026, Missy Odom from Jasper, Alabama, released her Top 9 schools, and Virginia Tech joins Clemson, Florida State, Notre Dame, Texas A&M, Central Florida, Texas Tech, Auburn, and Ohio State. She is a dual-sport athlete and would like to play softball at whichever school she ends up at.

The 6-foot-2 Odom is a power forward who is a difference-maker at both ends. A four-star prospect, she is the 23rd-ranked player at On3, the 37th-ranked player at 247Sports, and the 29th-ranked player at ESPN. Anderson is the 66th-ranked player in the Class of 2026 on ESPN's Top 100.
Odom is planning a visit to her final nine schools, and she has already visited Texas Tech. She has scheduled a visit to Blacksburg on Sept. 19, where she will no doubt not only meet with Duffy, but also Hokies' softball coach Pete D'Amour, whom she said she has already reached out to on the phone.
Odom is a player who would fit right into Duffy's lineup and make an impact for Virginia Tech. The Mounverde Academy player fits the mold into what Duffy is looking for in a player, as evident by her first recruiting class in Blacksburg and the start she is off to with the Class of 2026.
