It was a tough start to the 2025 season for the Chicago Bears. Their first two games were NFC North Division losses to the Minnesota Vikings, 27-24, at home, then they were steamrolled by the Lions in Detroit, 52-21, last Sunday.
That made Sunday afternoon's home game against the Dallas Cowboys a must-win in Week 3 before a trip to Las Vegas to play the Raiders this upcoming Sunday. Thanks to former Virginia Tech star Tremaine Edmunds, the Bears' defense made play after play in a 31-14 win over the Cowboys.
Former Virginia Tech star Tremaine Edmunds has a monster game against the Dallas Cowboys
Edmunds was all over the field, literally, for Chicago. He registered a team-high 15 tackles, and with Dallas driving twice in the fourth quarter, looking to cut into a 20-point deficit, until Edmunds came up with a pair of huge plays.

Early in the fourth quarter, Edmunds picked off Dak Prescott at the Bears' 26 with a diving interception. Later in the quarter, he had another interception, this time in the end zone on fourth down.
"He was all over the field," Johnson said. "He really came through for us in a big way."
Edmunds and quarterback Caleb Williams, who threw for 298 yards and four touchdowns, were awarded game balls by first-year head coach Ben Johnson for their efforts.
"How strong of a coach he is, how mentally tough that he is, it feeds into all of us," Williams told ChicagoBears.com. "To be able to have this win, it's important to have this moment with his family, with us as players, but also for this organization and the momentum that we're trying to catch. The train is going. It's starting. We've just got to keep going and be consistent and stay on the rails."
Edmunds and teammates hope the train rolls into Las Vegas next weekend and they can even their record through the first month of the season.
