After the dust settled on the Seattle Seahawks' Super Bowl win over the New England Patriots, all eyes shifted in the NFL to 2026. There were some players who are hitting free agency who bid farewell to their current teams.

One of those players was former Virginia Tech offensive lineman Wyatt Teller. After being selected by the Buffalo Bills, he carved out a nice career for himself with the Cleveland Browns. There wasn't a lot of winning for him there, but he became a staple along the offensive line for Cleveland.

In February, Teller and his family had an emotional goodbye to the fans in Cleveland as he looked to begin the next chapter of his career somewhere else. Where that is yet remains to be seen for the three-time Pro Bowler. Some teams that came up short in the playoffs this season are looking for help along the offensive line, and Teller is a guard with experience who could help a team get over the top in protecting their quarterbacks. One of those teams is the Houston Texans.

The Houston Texans are listed as a best fit for former Virginia Tech offensive lineman Wyatt Teller

Gary Davenport of Bleacher Report listed Houston as a perfect fit for Teller, and that is really a no-brainer. Quarterback C.J. Stoud struggled in the playoffs, especially against the Patriots, and some of that had to do with suspect play from his offensive line. Teller has played right guard, but Davenport believes a move to the left side should be easy enough for the former Hokie to do.

"Teller has historically played right guard, but a transition to the left side shouldn't be too daunting. As recently as 2023 Teller was a Pro Bowler, and he was at least decent a year ago, allowing three sacks in 765 snaps per Pro Football Focus. This is a critical season for Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud. Completing their overhaul of the line in front of him is a big part of making it a successful one,'' wrote Davenport.

The Texans lost Braden Smith to free agency, and an overhaul is in order. Teller is a savvy veteran who could come in and fill a significant need in Houston. They believe their window of contention is now, and they need help in the trenches. We'll see how it plays out.
