Former Virginia Tech RB expected to make a huge splash in rookie NFL season

Bhayshul Tuten is someone who could open some eyes and get on the field quickly for the Jaguars in 2025.

Leading into the 2025 NFL Draft in Green Bay, former Virginia Tech running back Bhayshul Tuten was generating a lot of draft buzz and rightfully so. His two years in Blacksburg were good ones, and there is no doubt that he is ready to play in the NFL and make an impact

As was the case for all Hokies players drafted, it took until Day 3 for them to hear their names, but once one was picked, they all started to follow, with five players getting selected in total. There were a number of players who got free agent deals and will be looking to get on a roster this summer. Tuten, however, has a great chance to come in and make an impact this season with the Jacksonville Jaguars, according to one NFL writer.

Former Hokies’ RB Bhayshul Tuten tabbed AFC sleeper for 2025

The Jaguars took Tuten in the fourth round, 104th overall, and Chris Trapasso of CBS Sports listed Tuten as one of 16 AFC rookies picked after the first round of the NFL Draft who could earn key roles in 2025. Here is what he wrote,

"Yes, Tuten had a fumbling problem at Virginia Tech. Nine of them in his two years with the Hokies. I don't really care. Fumbles are kinda-sorta like drops for a receiver. They happen. They're rarely predictive of future fumbles. Everything else about Tuten's game screams future franchise runner."

"He's clearly ridiculously fast. And Tuten was a side-to-side wonder, eluding defenders at the ACC the past two campaigns. He forced 60-plus tackles in consecutive seasons, quite the feat for any ball-carrier. He made the jump from North Carolina A&T look effortless. And Tuten has the game to not only register as a blip on the radar in Jacksonville ... but push Travis Etienne and Tank Bigsby for the lion's share of the carries in Liam Coen's offense."

Tuten will have his work cut out for himself in terms of trying to take carries away from Etienne and Bigsby, but don’t be surprised if he does. He has the body frame to break tackles at the next level, and then once he gets into the open field, he’s difficult to catch and bring down. There is no doubt that Tuten will make an impact in Jacksonville in 2025 and even beyond.
