We are less than a month away from the 2025 NFL Draft in Green Bay and this season, there are a handful of former Virginia Tech players expected to be picked during one of the three days. Some players could work their way into a Day 2 pick, but the more realistic day is Day 3.
Regardless, some players are ready for the next level of football to make an impact, and now that the NFL Combine is over and Pro Days are in the books, mock drafts are going to be plentiful. The latest one from the College Football Network has five Virgina Tech players being selected in Wisconsin.
Five Virginia Tech players listed in latest mock draft
In the latest mock draft by the College Football Network, they had five Hokies being picked in the third, fourth, and fifth rounds later this month. The first player off the board they had was cornerback Dorian Strong in the third round, 73rd overall to the New York Jets, which is right about where a lot of people expect him to be drafted.
In the fourth round, they have a pair of Hokies defensive lineman going back-to-back with edge Antwaun Powell-Ryland going 133rd to the Kansas City Chiefs and Aeneas Peebles going 134th to the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles. Those would be indeal landings spots for both players to begin their pro careers.
In the fifth round, wide receiver Jaylin Lane is projected to145th and join Strong with the Jets. Running back Bhayshul Tuten was projected to go 166th to the Houston Texans. Honestly, this seems a bit low for Tuten was who really had a handful of good pre draft workouts which included opening some eyes at the Combine. It wouldn’t be surprising to see him go a round higher on someones board who is looking for a good back.
