Before each college football season begins, Bruce Feldman of The Athletic and FOX Sports releases his Freaks List. With the calendar flipped to the month of August, we are going to get football games this month. Virginia Tech begins the season against South Carolina in Atlanta on Aug. 31 and will do so with a different-looking roster for 2025.

With roster turnover comes getting to know some new faces while reuniting with some familiar names. Three Hokies' players were named to Feldman's Freaks List for this season, one returning player who missed some time last season with an injury and two transfers.

Feldman tabbed three Virginia Tech players, Kemari Copeland, and a pair of transfers, Donovan Greene, and Cameron Seldon, as players who are on his Freaks List, which chronicles the fastest, strongest, and most physical players for the new season.

Copeland had his first season in Blacksburg cut short last October with an injury, but you can't deny the freak athleticism he has and has been on display. After coming over from Iowa Western Community College, Copeland made a name for himself squatting 605 pounds for 10 reps. He is healthy after a torn tricep cost him most of last season and should be a nice addition to the defensive line for new coordinator Sam Siefkes. It should come as no surprise that he's on the list at No. 23.

Greene comes to Blacksburg from Wake Forest after injuries hampered his time in Winston-Salem, but at 6-foot-2, he comes in at No. 41 on he list for Feldman. He has crazy athletic ability, and when healthy, he can make plays in the open field. Look for quarterback Kyron Drones and first-year offensive coordinator Philip Montgomery to use him a lot and try and get favorable matchups for him to make plays.

Seldon, a Tennessee transfer, was one of the top prospects to come out of Virginia and was used as a running back with the Volunteers, and you can see why. He has great speed to separate from defenders, but the Hokies and Montgomery will use him a lot at wide receiver. A state champion in high school in the 100 and 200 meters gives Virginia Tech a freak on the outside with Greene and some of the young returning receivers.
