ACC moves up Virginia Tech women's basketball game against Wake Forest

On Friday, the ACC. announced that Megan Duffy and Virginia Tech women will have their road game at Wake Forest moved up from Sunday afternoon to Saturday at 5 p.m. EST in Winston-Salem. This is going to be a short turnaround for the Hokies after a thrilling come-from-behind win over Clemson on Thursday night at Cassell Coliseum.

Wake Forest, which is 12-8 overall and 2-6 in the ACC, was off on Thursday night, and the last time they played was on Sunday in a 78-71 loss at Clemson. This will be a difficult task for Virginia Tech, which has to adjust its travel and play a game for the second time in less than 24 hours.

Trailing Clemson, 68-60, late in the game on Thursday night, the Hokies rallied by closing out the game on an 11-0 run for a 71-68 victory. It was a huge win for Virginia Tech in terms of their NCAA Tournament résumé as Clemson was in the "Last Four In" in Charlie Creme's bracketology at ESPN, while the Hokeis were in the "First Four Out.'' Now both teams are the top two teams in the "First Four Out.'' Now Duffy and here team must avoid a letdown against the Demon Deacons on the short turnaround.
