On Saturday afternoon, the Virginia Tech football team will host Clemson looking to become bowl-eligible.On top of hosting the Tigers, the Hokies staff is hosting a slew of recruits who are both committed or taking an official visit.

Included in the committed recruits are players who are committed to other schools as Virginia Tech is making a move to try and flip a pair of commitments from Georgia schools. Both players are scheduled to be in Blacksburg and both are players who would fill a need down the line.

Virginia Tech to host a Georgia Tech & Georgia State commits

Brent Pry and his staff will be hosting Georgia State interior offensive lineman Dennis Uzochukwu. He committed on June 21, but along with Virginia Tech, Boston College and Ole Miss are also pushing hard for the Suwanee, Georgia native. He canceled a visit to Blacksburg two weeks ago when Georgia Tech was in town.

Speaking of the Yellow Jackets, a commit to Brent Key is expected to be at Lane Stadium for a visit. Justin Hasenhuetl, an offensive lineman, is ranked as the 21st IOL according to 247Sports. The Rabun Gap, Georgia native, is 6-foot-5 and 300 pounds and is ranked as the 41st player in Georgia in the Class of 2025.

Virginia Tech is expecting quarterbacks AJ Brand and Kelden Ryan on campus along with a number of in-state commits. Offensive line is an issue at times this year and any help, in any class that the Hokies can get will help. With both players committed to other schools, it won’t be easy securing one or both players, but after this weekend, only one more home games remains against Virginia for the Commonwealth Cup on Thanksgiving Weekend.

Virginia Tech has lost one commitment in this class back in September when Mathew Outten flipped his commitment to Penn State after the Hokeis season-opening loss at Vanderbilt
