It has been a busy last week plus for Virginia Tech football coach Brent Pry and his staff in terms of recruiting. They have hosted several players in the last week as they look to add to their roster for the 2024 season and they have visited more recruits on the road.

Early indications are that the Hokies are looking to add offensive linemen and defensive players in the transfer portal. On four-star defensive player announced on X that he will be making an official visit to Blacksburg at the end of the week.

Kemari Copeland  announced his official visit to Virginia Tech

Kemari Copeland, a JUCO defensive lineman from Iowa Western Community College announced on X that he will be visiting Virginia Tech from Dec. 15-17 after his official visit to North Carolina State a couple of days earlier.

Copeland is a four-star defensive lineman and has three years of eligibility remaining. Several schools are in on his recruiting including Arkansas, Arizona State, Auburn, Central Florida, NC State, and Tennessee.

Recently Virginia Tech and defensive coordinator Chris Marve got some great news when Antwaun Powell-Ryland, who transferred from Florida last offseason, announced on X that he’s coming back next season to play for the Hokies. Shortly after, Josh Fuga announced that he also will be returning to Blacksburg for a final season in 2024.

There are some questions still surrounding who is coming back on the defensive side of the ball for the Hokies, but with the way their defense played once ACC play began, adding some transfer portals players to a unit that played well is going to make them better next season. Getting a commitment from Copeland would be a huge get for Marve and Pry.

Virginia Tech will play Tulane in the Military Bowl on Dec. 27 in Annapolis, Maryland.
