Second-year Virginia Tech football coach Brent Pry got his team to a bowl game this season after starting the season 1-3. It was an impressive turnaround to win five of their eight ACC games to reach 6-6.

The Hokies reached bowl eligibility with an impressive 55-17 rout of Virginia on Saturday in Charlottesville. The win also gives Virginia Tech in-state bragging rights, they retain the Commonwealth Cup and they get another month of football together with more practice and a game. Monday morning, Pry dropped a savage tweet.

Pry dropped a savage message on X (formerly Twitter) of him sitting on a couch, presumably on a couch in his office, drinking coffee and saying “Ah, this cup of coffee tastes extra good this morning.” In front of him on the coffee table was the Commonwealth Cup that the Hokies secured once again over the Cavaliers.

Virginia Tech fans reacted to the savage message with some great responses.

This comes on the heels of Hokies fans rushing Scott Stadium following the win and sprinklers coming as Pry brought his team to midfield about 30 minutes following the game for a team picture.

The next month is going to be valuable to Pry, his staff, and players as they look to take the next step in 2024, but for now, he’s kicking back and enjoying his coffee that taste a little better this morning.
