For the final time in the 2023 college football regular season, the ACC announced the start times for the final weekend of games on Thanksgiving Weekend.  Unfortunately, for Virginia Tech, they are going to have to wait six more days to find out their start time at Virginia.

Monday, the conference announced the start time for four games, but they held back four more games, including the Hokies, as part of their six-day determinations.

ACC will announce the Virginia Tech at Virginia start time this weekend

The ACC will announce the start time for the Virginia Tech at Virginia game on Sunday, Nov. 19, after the results for this upcoming weekend’s games are complete. Here are the start times for the games that were announced on Monday,

  • Wake Forest at Syracuse, 2 p.m.
  • Florida State at Florida, 7 p.m.
  • Georgia at Georgia Tech, 7:30 p.m.
  • Clemson at South Carolina, 7:30 p.m.

That leaves three games without a time. Besides the Hokes and Cavaliers, Kentucky at Louisville and North Carolina at North Carolina State have yet to have a time announced. Pittsburgh at Duke will kick off at either noon or 3:30 and be broadcast on the ACC Network.

So what is the likely start time for Virginia Tech that weekend? Well, a lot depends on what happens this weekend at home against NC State. A Hokies win Saturday against the Wolfpack and their bowl-eligible, which takes a lot of suspense out of the game (aside from the obvious rivalry). A loss to the Wolfpack puts a lot more on the game for Virginia Tech, who would need a win to become bowl-eligible. Another factor in determining the time is the very small chance that Tech still has an opportunity to play in the ACC title game against Florida State.

For that to occur, they need Louisville to lose at Miami this weekend and North Carolina to win out and the Hokies would have the tiebreaker to finish in second place. It’s highly unlikely that will happen, but we’ll know a lot more come this Sunday morning.
