This week Virginia Tech travels to Louisville in a battle for second place in the conference before they head to Boston. Virginia Tech men’s soccer to open ACC Tournament Wednesday

The Virginia Tech men’s soccer team begins the ACC Tournament Wednesday night when they travel to Chapel Hill, North Carolina to play the Tar Heels at 6 p.m.

The 10th-seeded Hokies enter the tournament coming off a 7-1 drubbing at the hands of Duke last Friday night. Tied 1-1 at the half, the Blue Devils exploded for six second-half goals en route to the victory. The two teams met earlier this season in Blacksburg and played to a 1-1 tie.

In a game that was delayed by weather on Sept. 8, Virginia Tech took a 1-0 lead in the 77th minute on an Oliver Roche goal, before the visiting Tar Heels tied the game five minutes later on a goal from Quenzi Huerman. The rematch should be a good one with a spot in the ACC Quarterfinals on the line.
