Virginia Tech Football: Promising update for Nasir Peoples ahead of FSU
By Scott Roche
The Virginia Tech football team heads to Tallahassee today to play fifth-ranked Florida State in what is their toughest game to date in 2023 and it will without a doubt be the toughest they face all season long.
The Hokies are coming off a 38-21 win over Pittsburgh last week to begin ACC play, but they are facing the top team in the conference coming off of a bye and looking to cement their spot as a National Championship contender.
Virginia Tech has battled injuries all season long and the list is pretty long with some key names. Against the Seminoles, they could be getting a key piece back which would be a big addition to their defense.
Virginia Tech’s safety Nasir Peoples is expected to play against Florida State
David Cunningham of Tech Sideline reported Saturday morning that safety Nasir Peoples is expected to return to the Hokies secondary against Florida State, although it is not known how he’ll play.
Peoples returning to the lineup would allow some shifting in the secondary to take place and allow them key pieces against a dynamic Seminoles offense led by quarterback Jordan Travis. The shifting would allow them to have players in their normal positions.
Other injury updates included quarterback Grant Wells who is not expected to play in favor of Kyron Drones as the senior is still recovering from an ankle injury suffered in a Week 2 loss to Purdue at home. Even if he was healthy, Drones is still the quarterback that coach Brent Pry needs to play.
