Virginia Tech Football: Hokies will host potential recruits against Pitt
By Scott Roche
Saturday night, the Virginia Tech football team hosts Pittsburgh in their ACC opener. At 1-3, this is a big game for the Hokies in many. One way is breaking their current three-game losing streak against Purdue, Rutgers, and Marshaldd, while also for at least one week, settling down the frustration from the fanbase toward head coach Brent Pry and his coaching staff.
Another reason why it’s a big game is because it is going to be a big night in terms of recruiting. The Hokies will host a bunch of potential recruits at Lane Stadium and give them the night game experience in Blacksburg.
Three-star tight end and defensive end Caden Piening from Cincinnati, Ohio announced earlier Saturday that he was going to be at Lane Stadium, as did Andrew Nelms, a kicker from Marietta, Georgia. Three-star tackle Tyler Barrett and Class of 2025 runningback Isaiah West from Logan Township, New Jersey will also be there against the Panthers.

Lane Stadium is going to be sold out again for the game tonight and it should be an electric atmosphere for the recruits to witness first-hand. The Hokies need to put on a show and not have the only recruiting tool for them to be Enter Sandman.
Pry and his staff are rebuilding Virginia Tech and recruiting is going to be the best way to do it. Of course that can hit the transfer portal as well as they did last offseason getting wide receivers Ali Jennings, Jaylin Lane, and Da’Quan Felton, along with running back Bhuyshul Tuten and quarterback Kyron Drones, who is expected under center tonight.
