Former Hokies DB Kendall Fuller makes diving interception of Josh Allen

Things went really well for the Washington Commanders through the first two weeks of the NFL season. Former Virginia Tech defensive back Kendall Fuller and his teammates were 2-0, beating the Arizona Cardinals at home and the Denver Broncos on the road. Sunday, they return home to face Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills. Things didn’t go well for the home team, but Fuller made a big play.

In the third quarter and the Bills leading 16-0, Buffalo faced a 3rd-and-20 when wide receiver Gabe Davis raced down the left sideline and Allen unleashed a deep throw that Fuller was able to intercept with his back to Allen. Truth be told, Fuller looked like he was the intended receiver as he ran the route step for step with the talented Davis.

Unfortunately for the Fuller and the Commanders, they went on to lose the game 37-3 to fall to 2-1. For the game, the former Hokie finished with eight tackles, two solo, and his pick of one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL.
Fuller was selected in the third round, 84th overall in the 2016 Draft by the then-Washington Redskins. After a couple of seasons in the Nations Capital, he played with the Kansas City Chiefs, before returning to Washington in 2020.
