Last week, the Virginia Tech football game was broadcast on the Big Ten Network with the game at SHI Stadium in Piscataway, New Jersey, home of the Rutgers Scarlet Knights. This week, the Hokies return back to the ESPN Network, this time on ESPN2 when they travel to play their final non-conference game of the season at Marshall before ACC play begins.

Who are the announcers for the Virginia Tech at Marshall game?

This week, ESPN announced who they will have in Huntington, West Virginia when the Hokies and Thundering Hurd matchup at noon Eastern. Roy Philpott will be on the play-by-play with Roddy Jones as the analyst. Taylor McGregor will be the sideline reporter.

Philpott is entering his 10th season at ESPN calling college football, basketball, and baseball games for the network. Jones is a former Georgia Tech player and was a running back over a decade ago for the Yellow Jackets. Aside from working the sideline for ESPN, McGregor is the field reporter for Marquee Sports Network in Chicago for Cubs games.

Philpott is one of the veteran play-by-play announcers at ESPN, while Jones always has good insight in his commentary, and being a former player, he sees things very well as they happen. McGregor has been with ESPN since 2019 and has worked a ton of college football and basketball games, aside from her duties with the Cubs. It should be a very entertaining broadcast.
