Prediction: Virginia Tech

Virginia Tech is the massive favorite, and it would be a major surprise if Dwayne Lawson didn’t commit to the Hokies tonight. The player-coach relationship between Lawson and Scot Loeffler is quite strong, and will be the biggest factor why Lawson will commit to the Hokies.

The chance of early playing time also helps the Hokies, and those chances could increase depending on how well Michael Brewer and Brenden Motley do this spring. Virginia Tech’s fan base is also one of the most passionate in the country and that definitely has to help in this recruitment.

The strong statement of support from Whit Babcock for Frank Beamer along with assuring that no coaching changes were going to happen probably helped seal the deal for the Hokies with Lawson. Scot Loeffler seemed like a candidate to be fired, but Loeffler staying helps seal the deal for the Hokies with Lawson.

Virginia Tech is having a good start to 2015 on the recruiting trail mainly due to the addition of Tim Settle. However, Dwayne Lawson will make that start to 2015 even better for the Hokies.
