Week 9 2024 College Football Playoff Rankings: Texas A&M Joins, But Who Falls Out?
By Scott Roche
The last full weekend of college football is done, which is hard to believe. With each passing day, we are getting closer and closer to the first release of the first 12-team College Football Playoff rankings for 2024.
Despite there not being any upsets to cause some major shifting, there was one team that had an impressive win. Texas A&M took down LSU in an SEC matchup between the last two undefeated teams in the conference. How many people had the Aggies as the last undefeated team in the SEC at the end of October on their bingo card?
Oregon, BYU, Penn State, Ohio State, Texas, Miami, Notre Dame, Indiana, and Boise State all won this past weekend to remain in the 12-team field. Some of the wins were impressive and some were not so impressive to close out the month of October. With Week 9 officially in the books, here are the latest 12-team CFP rankings projections.

There are some huge matchups on tap next weekend that will have some big ramifications on the rankings. Ohio State travels to Penn State for a huge Big Ten showdown with the loser all but eliminated from the conference title race. Miami will host Duke, Oregon has a very tricky game at Michigan while Florida and Georgia will play their annual game in Jacksonville.
Indiana travels to Michigan State, Clemson will host Louisville while Texas A&M will take their undefeated SEC record on the road to South Carolina. Boise State will get another Friday night game, this time at home against San Diego State.
For the first time this season, there were no major subtractions or additions in the rankings, but this is college football which loves chaos and expect some this upcoming weekend with a big slate of games on the schedule.
