As this year's National Signing Day comes to a close, Virginia Tech head coach Tony Robie has to be elated with the recruiting class he put together. Building off Caleb Henson's historic national title this past March, the Hokies have continued to develop a national brand by bringing in the top high school talent from across the country.
Per FloWrestling's team rankings, the Hokies signed the #5 recruiting class of 2025 prospects. In total, Robie's staff brought on seven recruits, including three ranked in the top 25 and six of the top 100. This group ranks first in the ACC, and is ahead of wrestling powerhouses like Iowa and Arizona State.
Robie's 2025 recruiting class is his fourth to be ranked in the top-5 in the last seven years. This group is among Robie's most highly ranked as the Hokies' head coach, but is still behind the 2019 class that ranked 2nd nationally and remains Virginia Tech's best recruiting finish ever.
The Hokies results have spoken for themselves and it is part of the reason why they are successful in the recruit trail. Friday night, they host Missouri in a Top 20 matchup at Cassell Coliseum. Next Friday, they will host Rutgers and then after a couple of tournaments, they will travel to Stillwater, Okla. to face Oklahoma State in another key non-conference match. Success in those matches will only fuel the recruiting for Virginia Tech for the future.
Robie has turned the Hokies into a national powerhouse program and the future is very bright.
