Virginia Tech Women's Basketball One of Two Finalists for Class of 2025 Guard
By Scott Roche
Tuesday night, the Virginia Tech women’s basketball was picked to finish 12th this season in the ACC. That’s not surprising after the turnover that happened in Blacksburg with coach Kenny Brooks leaving to take the same position at Kentucky. He was replaced by Megan Duffy, who came to Blacksburg from Marquette.
During her short time as head coach at Virginia Tech Duffy has hit the ground running with building a roster for the upcoming season and recruiting. So far in the Class of 2025, the Hokies have commitments from guard Katie Sears from North Carolina and forward Amani Jenkins of Iowa. Both are four stars and good pieces for Duffy to build her class around. Wednesday, another highly sought-after recruiting in next season’s class narrowed her choices down to two with the Hokies being one of the finalists.
Destiny Lunan narrows choices down to Virginia Tech & NC State
Destiny Lunan announced on her X page that she has narrowed her choices down to two schools, Virginia Tech and North Carolina State. Talk about an all-ACC battle for one of the better point guards in the class.
The Goodyear, Arizona native spoke to 247Sports about her potential fit with which ever school she chooses.
"Most of the schools already have a player right now — or had one in the past — who I remind them of," she said. "Since they watched me this last AAU season, they know how I play. I get downhill, get paint touches, kick it out if the defense collapses and I love to play defense. ... Those aspects are usually what schools show and give me examples of."
Sounds like a good fit for Virginia Tech. According to 247Sports, Lunan has yet to set a date to make her decision, but it should come in November during the early signing period.
