After their second bye in three weeks, the Virginia Tech football team will travel to Florida State to begin a stretch of playing out the string on the 2025 season over the final three weeks.

This game will have a number of storylines surrounding it, but for Florida State, they will be looking to rebound from a 24-10 loss to Clemson on Saturday night on the road. It has been another frustrating season for FSU and head coach Mike Norvell, and believe it or not, the Hokies enter this game with more ACC wins than the Seminoles, with two, compared to one for the hosts.

Despite that, the oddsmakers don't believe this will be much of a game with the way the line opened in favor of FSU.

Virginia Tech opens as massive underdogs at Florida State

Coming off a bye, Virginia Tech opens as a 12.5 underdog at Florida State according to DraftKings. It's a little surprising that the line is that high, but with the way things have gone in Blacksburg this season, it's not that big of a surprise.

Since firing Brent Pry in September after a Week 3 loss to Old Dominion, the Hokies are 3-3 under interim coach Philip Montgomery and looked better than they did in any of the first three weeks of the season under Pry.

This is the final home game of the season for FSU, as after this upcoming weekend, they will have road games at North Carolina State and Florida to try and become bowl-eligible. The road won't be easy, but a win over the Hokies would certainly make their job easier, needing one win on the road rather than two.

This game also could be big in terms of the James Franklin sweepstakes, as if FSU moves on from Norvell, it could end up being Franklin's landing spot for next season and beyond.
