After rebounding from a devastating loss at SMU last Wednesday night, the Virginia Tech men's basketball team will begin a two-game road trip with a stop in New York to visit Syracuse. This is going to be a tough game for the Hokies as the Orange are an improved team from last year, but also because of what happened this past Saturday.

Syracuse suffered an overtime loss at Boston College, and it was a loss that they could not afford. They are going to be angry. Now looking to get back into the NCAA Tournament this March, they can't afford many more losses, especially one to Virginia Tech. As for the Hokies, this is a game that they must win to bolster their chances at making the 68-team NCAA Tournament field. Things get tougher for Mike Young's team on Saturday when they visit Louisville.

Virginia Tech comes into the game off a win at home over Notre Dame on Saturday afternoon and closes out the month with games against Georgia Tech and Duke at home. Simply put, the next couple of weeks are going to be huge in terms of building some wins, and it begins on the road against the Orange. The Dome is not an easy place to play in.
