After opening the season with wins over Charleston Southern and Providence, the Virginia Tech men's basketball team faces another challenge on Wednesday night when Saint Joseph's visits Cassell Coliseum. The Hokies will be looking for a bit of revenge after losing last season's game on the road right before ACC play began.
Virginia Tech enters off a thrilling 107-101 overtime win over the Friars on Saturday afternoon at Mohegan Sun. Freshman Neoklis Avdalas opened a lot of eyes with 33 points, five rebounds, and six assists in the victory. West Virginia transfer Amani Hansberry recorded his second double-double for the Hokies with 17 points and 11 rebounds, including a huge 3-pointer in overtime.

Keys to victory for Virginia Tech
This is going to be a tougher game than a lot of people think for the Hokies. The Hawks own a pair of 11-point wins over Lafayette and Drexel. They have put up 86 and 76 points and have an explosive offense. Last year, they blasted Virginia Tech, 82-62, at The Palestra, but both teams are different-looking with new rosters.
Virginia Tech needs to get out and run with Saint Joseph's and look to score inside with Lawal and get him going. Avdalas is going to begin to draw more attention from teams as the season goes along after his coming-out party against Providence. This would be another good-looking win for the Hokies come March.
