It has been two weeks since the Virginia Tech men's basketball team was bounced in the first round of the ACC Tournament in Charlotte in overtime by Wake Forest. That ended the Hokies' hopes, as small as they were, of making the NCAA Tournament.
A few days later, the program announced on their X account that they were not going to accept an NIT bid and that their season was over at 19-13. That officially ended one of the more frustrating seasons in a long time in Blacksburg. Maybe more frustrating than the 13-19 2024-25 season.
There are likely going to be some changes this spring when the Transfer Portal opens up next month after the National Championship Game. On Tuesday, it was reported by Sam Kayser that guard Izaiah Pasha plans on entering the portal after just one season in Blacksburg.

The 6-foot-5 guard was the CAA Rookie of the Year as a freshman before spending this past season at Virginia Tech.

Virginia Tech suffers first men's basketball portal loss
Pasha transferred to Virginia Tech last spring after a strong freshman season at Delaware. This year, for Mike Young and the Hokies, he played in just 18 games, averaging 8.1 minutes a game and just two points a game. He shot 35% from the field, 14.3 from behind the arc, and 53.8% from the free throw line.
Pasha found it very difficult to find his way into Young's rotation. Ben Hammond had another big season for Virginia Tech, while Neoklis Avdalas saw a ton of time. He started out the season well, but struggled as the season went along in ACC play.
As for Pasha, the 6-foot-5 Harrisburg, Pennsylvania native had 11 points and three assists for the Hokies in a non-conference overtime win over Elon. He had seven points and six assists in Virginia Tech's win over Maryland Eastern Shore in December. He didn't play in a game after a Feb. 21 win over Wake Forest.
