After the Virginia Tech softball team was eliminated from the NCAA Tournament, the third weekend in May at the Tuscaloosa Regional on the campus of the University of Alabama, it ended the careers of some of the program's best players to wear the Tech uniform.

Since the season ended, some Hokies have been receiving some awards, and outfielder Cori McMillan keeps them coming in. On Friday, she was named the No. 1 outfielder by D1Softball, something that shouldn't surprise anyone. This year, she smacked 31 home runs and drove in 65 runs. She slashed .432/.549./1.047. Imagine what her career numbers would have been had she spent all four years in Blacksburg, instead of playing her first two years at Radford.

Virginia Tech softball transfer lands in the ACC

After the Hokies' season with two losses to Alabama, Emily LeGette hit the transfer portal after her sophomore season in Blacksburg. The Fort Lauderdale, Florida native, who won a state championship at American Heritage High School, hit the portal and found a new home in the ACC at North Carolina.

This season for the Hokies, LeGette played in 31 games this season for the Hokies and slashed .328/.366/.567 with four home runs and 15 RBIs. She would have gotten more playing time next year, but she'll get that in Chapel Hill instead.

Wisconsin sues Miami football

The University of Wisconsin is suing the University of Miami for tampering after freshman Xavier Lucas, as identified by ESPN, reported that Wisconsin refused to enter his name in the transfer portal. He enrolled in South Florida in January, despite the Badgers staff not entering him in the portal, according to ESPN.

There is no doubt that this is going to get ugly, and it'll be interesting to see how everything plays out when all is said and done.
