It's going to be a very busy Memorial Day when it comes to Virginia Tech athletics. The first bit of news that could drop on the day is where the baseball team will be going for the NCAA Tournament. They won their last four ACC series of ther regular season before the ACC Tournament last week in Charlotte.

The Hokies were on the NCAA Tournament bubble for the 64-team field going into the conference tournament, but after slugging their way past Notre Dame, 17-10, in a second-round matchup on Wednesday night. They battled second-seeded North Carolina in the quarterfinals on Friday before falling 10-4.

It appears that John Szefc's crew is safely in the field, but until they hear their name called, you can never feel like you're safe. As far as the ACC Tournament played out, it lived up to its billing with top-seeded Georgia Tech and UNC making it to Sunday's title game before the Yellow Jackets claimed the title with a 13-6 victory.

Virginia Tech football recruits set to make decisions on Monday

Monday could be a monumental day in recruiting for James Franklin and Virginia Tech. The first-year Hokies coach and his staff have been on a recruiting heater lately, and that could continue on Monday with a pair of big-name recruits set to make their announcements.

Interior offensive lineman Kaden Buchanan, who has been a priority of offensive line coach Matt Moore for some time, is scheduled to make his commitment at 2 p.m. on the CBS Sports College Football YouTube Channel. This is down to three schools: Virginia Tech, Kentucky, and North Carolina State. This feels like one that Moore, Franklin, and Virginia Tech needs to win.

Four-star wide receiver Jaiden Kelly-Murray is also set to make his prediction on Monday with a Final 4 of Virginia Tech, Colorado, Illinois, and Wake Forest. This one could go in any direction, but Kelly-Murray ahs made it known that he wants to go where he can play right away. That might end up being Colorado, but we'll see how things go.
