Virginia Tech men's basketball coach Mike Young is still looking to build his Class of 2026 recruiting group. Ethan Harris, a recruit from Washington, announced on his X account that he received an offer from Young and assistant coach Chester Frazier.

The Hokies are the latest to offer the 6-foot-9 power forward from Camas, WA. He also holds offers from Oregon State, Washington, Boise State, Eastern Washington, Saint Louis, Portland State, and others. Playing for Idaho Select on the AAU circuit, Harris has lined up visits this fall, and it remains to be seen if he'll take one to Blacksburg.
College football analyst puts Virginia Tech foe on blast
Nobody is doubting that the ACC is a top-heavy conference in football with Clemson, Miami, and SMU leading the way. Like Virginia Tech, another school that has been trying to knock on the door with the top teams is North Carolina State. The Wolfpack are looking to take the next step in 2025, but one college football analyst thinks that they are actually going the other way.
"NC State, there's a very good chance they fall off a cliff," Pollack said.
It feels like the Wolfpack are in the same boat as the Hokies this season, where it could be a make-or-break season for a lot of people around the program, including the head coaches. Virginia Tech will visit Raleigh for its first ACC game on Sept. 27 after opening the season with its four non-conference games. It should be an interesting weekend for both teams.
Pivotal commitment date inching closer
As we close in on the middle of the month of July, we are inching closer to fall camp opening, but it is still also prime commitment season, and that is the case for Pry and Virginia Tech.
JaySean Richardson will make his commitment on July 25 and is coming down to a Commonwealth battle between Virginia and Virginia Tech. The 6-foot-8, 290-pound Richardson is from Richmond, and this will be a big decision for the Hokies, who could use him along the defensive line in the future and in Sam Siefkes' scheme.
