With each passing day, we are inching closer and closer to the Virginia Tech football team opening the 2025 season against South Carolina on Sunday afternoon at Mercedes-Benz Stadium at 3 p.m. On Tuesday, the Hokies released their depth chart for the opener, but South Carolina and head coach Shane Beamer chose not to.
Meeting with the media on Wednesday, Beamer was asked about not releasing a depth chart, and he commented on it to avoid massive overreactions. According to Jordan Kaye of The State Newspaper, Beamer said he called Virginia Tech head coach Brent Pry to tell him that South Carolina would not be releasing a depth chart.
You'll piece it together,'' Beamer said. "It's not trying to (have) any gamesmanship.''
