One weekend down and three more to go in recruiting visits this spring cycle for college football programs. This past weekend, Virginia Tech and head coach Brent Pry hosted several recruits as they look to load up with commitments for the Class of 2026 and beyond.

One recruit who was on campus this past weekend was a player at a position of need for the Hokies, tight end. The last couple of recruiting cycles, Virginia Tech has not locked up a tight end in their classes, and they are reportedly sitting “very high’’ for a talented one out of South Carolina, Tilden Riley.

The Orangeburg, South Carolina native has three more visits lined up to West Virginia, Vanderbilt, and South Carolina before making his decision this summer. Again, a tight end is a need in the Class of 2026, and he would be a perfect fit the the Hokies offense and coordinator Philip Montgomery.

ACC has most teams in Super Regionals

When the dust settled on the NCAA Baseball Tournament brackets last week, the SEC ended up with a crazy 13 teams and the ACC nine. Now that the first weekend is in the books and the Super Regionals are up next, the ACC has more teams remaining than the vaunted SEC.

This weekend, the ACC has five teams, Miami, Louisville, Florida State, North Carolina, and Duke. Louisville, UNC, and Duke will be hosting. The four SEC schools remaining are Arkansas, Tennessee, Auburn, and LSU. Arkansas will host Tennessee this weekend, while Auburn will host Coastal Carolin, and LSU will host West Virginia.

I guess it just means more losses. As far as the Hokies go, they went 4-7 against the remaining ACC schools in the Supers during the regular season.

Softball transfer officially signs with Virginia Tech

Stetson transfer Addy Foster committed to the Hokies softball team over the weekend, and on Tuesday, she officially signed as a member of the 2025 class. She led Stetson with a .411 batting average and a team-high 45 RBI. She also had seven triples and 72 hits and drew 33 walks, and swiped 39 bases over two seasons with the Hatters. She should slide right into the Hokies' lineup next season.
