We are just three months away from the college basketball season getting underway for both the men and women. Both Virginia Tech teams have released their non-conference schedules and are amid summer workouts. While all that is going on, Cassell Coliseum is getting a new look.
Virginia Tech's Athletics X account released images on their X account of the transformation that the floor at Cassell has gone through this summer. I must say, the new-look floor is rather sweet.

The video is an eye-opening one and the finished product is just as good-looking. I like the new-look and can't wait to see what it looks like with games on it.

Four-star men's basketball recruit has Virginia Tech in the mix
One of the fast-rising Class of 2027 men's basketball players is four-star Moussa Kamissoko, a 6-foot-8 forward from Long Island, New York. He recently jumped to No. 5 on Rivals' Top 150, and he is drawing interest from a number of programs, including Mike Young and the Hokies.

According to Jamie Shaw, Virginia Tech, Villanova, North Carolina State, and Syracuse are four schools heavily involved in his recruiting. With two ACC schools in the mix, especially Syracuse, which is not too far from Long Island. This is a recruitment to keep an eye on for Young and the Hokies.
Former Hokies' hurler headed to Virginia
Virginia Tech baseball coach John Szefc has had some movement through the transfer portal, and recently, he lost pitcher Brendan Cowen. This past season, he appeared in seven games for the Hokies and had an ERA of 11.25 in four innings pitched. It's not so much they lost him, it's to whom. On his X account, Cowen announced that he was committed to Virginia, deciding to switch sides on the in-state rivalry.
Aeneas Peebles makes NFL Preseason debut
Former Virginia Tech defensive lineman Aeneas Peebles made his NFL Preseason debut for the Baltimore Ravens against the Indianapolis Colts. He finished with three tackles in the game for the Ravens in their 24-16 win. It wouldn't be surprising to see him make some kind of impact this season for one of the top teams in the AFC.
