Last Sunday, Florida State decided to fire its head football coach, Mike Norvell, after a loss at home to Clemson. That was a move that shouldn't have surprised many people, as it felt like it was only a matter of time. As for who will replace Norvell, that remains to be seen. However, former Notre Dame and LSU coach Brian Kelly made it clear that it's a job that he would be interested in.

"I’ve got a great history with Florida State, great games,'' said Kelly. "I know what that’s like, the history and tradition of Florida State, playing in that state, and the fan base. So anytime you have an incredibly brand driven, great tradition and history, there’s a want and desire to be part of somebody that has had that success and, certainly, leading that program, from anyone’s perspective, would be an honor and privilege."

Kelly basically said the same thing about the recent Maryland opening, and it just proves that he was back in college football on the sideline a year after he was fired at LSU. Whether it's Maryland or Florida State, you have to think that some school will take a chance on him this coaching cycle.

Men's soccer gets bounced from ACC Tournament

The Hokies men's soccer team drew the sixth seed in the ACC Tournament and was looking to make a bigger case to make the NCAA Tournament later this month with at least one win. Instead, Virignia Tech took a 1-0 lead into halftime against 11th-seeded North Carolina State, but the Wolfpack rallied for a pair of goals in a 2-1 upset.

Virginia Tech grabbed a 1-0 lead in the 26th minute when Luke Hamel scored, but NC State scored in the 51st minute from Russell Berko and the game-winner in the 67th minute from Aidan Payne. The Wolfpack defense frustrated Tech, which forced NC State's keeper, Gabe Lamphere, to make one save, while the Hokies' keeper, Diego Dauzier, made three saves. Virginia Tech fell to 8-6-3 with the loss.
