The ACC men's basketball tournament begins for 15 teams on Tuesday afternoon. Three teams, Boston College, Notre Dame, and Georgia Tech, are the three teams that will not be in Charlotte for this year's tournament. Pittsburgh picked up the final spot in North Carolina with an overtime win at Syracuse on Saturday afternoon.

With the end of the college basketball season fast approaching, that means there are going to be some coaching changes, and on Sunday, two of the three programs that missed the ACC Tournament have moved on from their current head coaches and will get a start in the search process.

On Sunday morning, Georgia Tech fired Damon Stoudamire after the Yellow Jackets finished the 2025-26 ACC slate with a 2-16 record. Shortly after that announcement, Boston College fired Earl Grant after the Eagles went 4-14 in ACC play, but lost out on the final spot in Charlotte when Pitt won in overtime. The searches for both jobs will begin, and they'll likely be "national searches" to fill both openings.

This is just the beginning, it feels like, as Jeff Capel at Pittsburgh and Adrian Autry at Syracuse are likely to have the same fate shortly. Mike Young is expected back at Virginia Tech.

Virginia Tech baseball salvages Game 3 vs. Georgia Tech

Losers of six straight, the Virginia Tech baseball team was looking to avoid a seventh straight loss and a sweep at the hands of the No. 5 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in the first ACC series of the season. It took a long time with a high-scoring game and a rain delay, but the Hokies avoided a sweep with a 9-6 victory.

Tied 6-6 in the top of the seventh, the Hokies scored three runs on some shaky Yellow Jackets pitching. After the rain delay, Preston Crowl worked the final three innings, not allowing a hit and striking out four to help Virginia Tech improve to 8-7 overall and 1-2 in the ACC.

Duke women win ACC Tournament

After winning the regular-season championship, the Duke women doubled down over the weekend and captured the ACC Tournament championship again with a 70-65 overtime win over Louisville. The Blue Devils were down four late in regulation, but rallied with some key offensive rebounds and some big shots. Both teams, along with Megan Duffy and Virginia Tech, will await the NCAA Tournament release next Sunday night for their assignment in the 68-team field.
