During recent visits with Class of 2026 football recruits, Virginia Tech hosted a tight end, Tilden Riley, a three-star from Orangeburg, South Carolina, and Orangeburg Preparatory School. Tight end has been a position in recruiting where the Hokies have not had a lot of success. They were hoping that they could land Tilden. They couldn't.
Tilden committed to Vanderbilt in the SEC and picked the Commodores over Virginia Tech and South Carolina. He took a visit to Blacksburg back on May 30 and followed with visits to West Virginia, Vanderbilt, and South Carolina. This would have been a huge addition to the Class of 2026 for the Hokies, who are still looking for offensive players in the class.
Virginia Tech baseball adds transfer pitcher
After moving on from pitching coach Ryan Fecteau, Virginia Tech baseball coach John Szefc hired Doug Willey from Xavier to replace him. It didn't take long for Willey to make an impact in Blacksburg with a former hurler from Xavier following him to Virginia Tech.
Thankful for my experience at Xavier and the relationships there that I will cherish forever.

With that being said, I have committed to Virginia Tech for my final year. Go Hokies! pic.twitter.com/Q8T9QUzk1l
Ben Weber, a right-handed pitcher from St. Paul, Minn, announced on his X account that he was committing to the Hokies through the transfer portal. This past season for the Musketeers, he went 6-3 in 18 appearances, 12 starts, with a 4.15 ERA in 84.2 innings with a 44-26 strikeout-to-walk ratio.
Virginia Tech basketball commit continues to turn heads
When Neoklis Advalas withdrew from the NBA Draft process earlier this month and signed with Virginia Tech, he became the biggest commit of the Mike Young era in Blacksburg. A projected second round in this past week's draft, he decided to play a year in college and should work his way up to a first-round pick, which On3 has predicted, in next June's draft.
Advalas continues to turn heads, and he did so in a friendly against the Under-20 Germany team. He dropped 20 points, including the game-winning shot, and he had nine assists, five rebounds, and three steals. His highlight reel is something else if you haven't seen it, and he is going to be a massive fit into Young's rotation next year, and he makes the Hokies an ACC dark horse in 2025-26. The rest of the conference should be put on notice.
