After splitting two games following their bye week against California and Louisville, the Virginia Tech football team gets its second bye week of the season this weekend before three weeks to close out the 2025 season.

The Hokies rallied to beat California, 42-34, in double overtime two weeks ago before leading Louisville, 16-7, at halftime this past weekend, only to be shut out in the second half, 21-0, by the Cardinals in a 28-16 loss.

Virginia Tech has a lot of questions surrounding the program, not only for the rest of this season, but also for the future of the program with their next coaching hire. Rumors have been swirling around the program about former Penn State coach James Franklin, but that's all they are currently, rumors. While the current Hokies begin another bye week, the ACC on Monday announced the start time for their next game.

Virginia Tech placed in primetime slot at Florida State

Virginia Tech will next take the field on Nov. 15 at Florida State and on Monday, the ACC announced that the game will be a primetime game, dropped in the 7:30 p.m. slot on ACC Network. That is a surprising start time given how both the Hokies and Seminoles have struggled this year. Tech has fired BrentPry, while FSU will make a decision on Mike Norvell's future at the end of the season.

Virginia Tech is 3-6 after their loss to Louisville this past weekend, while Florida State is 4-4 overall after blasting Wake Forest, 42-7, this past weekend at home. While the Hokies are off this weekend, FSU travels to Clemson this Saturday night at 7 o'clock. While a bowl game is all but out of the picture for Virginia Tech, it is well within reach for the Seminoles, which makes this game a big one for them.
