After dropping two straight games and being on the road for three of the last four games, a frustrated Virginia Tech football team returns to Blacksburg and Lane Stadium looking to end their first losing streak under first-year head coach James Franklin.

Despite being at home, it is not going to be an easy task, to say the least. The Hokies will welcome Georgia Tech to town as they look for some revenge for a loss last season in Atlanta. However, both teams are different-looking and going through some ups and downs currently. However, despite the results on Saturday, the Hokies are a big favorite going into the game.

Virginia Tech opens as double-digit favorite against Georgia Tech

According to DraftKings, Virginia Tech opens as a 10-point favorite over the Yellow Jackets, which is an all-too-familiar line for Hokies fans to be looking at. It was the same line at kickoff this past Saturday afternoon in Northern California against an undermanned and banged-up Cal team. Virginia Tech proceeded to lose 25-20 in an ugly loss.

So, here we go again. Virginia Tech is an early double-digit favorite at home against another ACC opponent. Your guess is as good as anyone's as to what Virginia Tech we'll see in the Homecoming Game.

Both teams are coming in off different results, which makes the line even that much more bizarre. The Hokies suffered a demoralizing loss to the Golden Bears and were outcoached and outplayed for 60 minutes. Meanwhile, the Yellow Jackets pulled off a 28-25 upset of Duke at home when the Blue Devils missed a game-tying field goal. Virginia Tech sympathizes with Duke's fans' pain.

For the second straight week, we'll say it again, it'll be interesting to see how the Hokies respond after a second straight brutal loss. Franklin's going to earn his paycheck this week, in terms of regrouping his team and putting them in position to pick up a win at home.
