The Virginia Tech football team rolled to a 42-21 win over Boston College last Thursday night at Lane Stadium. The win improved to Hokies to 4-3 as they begin the second half of the season that has four of their final six games at Lane Stadium.

After a weekend to rest and recover, it's back to work this week for Brent Pry and his team as they will host Georgia Tech on Saturday afternoon at Lane Stadium. That is where we'll begin this edition of Virginia Tech Football News.

Virginia Tech opens as favorite over Georgia Tech

The Hokies have opened as an 8.5-point favorite over the Yellow Jackets this upcoming weekend according to FanDuel. This is an interesting line, to say the least as there are questions surrounding Georgia Tech at quarterback. As the week goes along, expect the line to fluctuate depending on the news coming out of Atlanta on the injury front.

Georgia Tech QB Haynes King remains questionable

On Friday, Pete Thamel of ESPN reported that the Yellow Jackets were going to be without starting quarterback Haynes King against Notre Dame. He was injured on Oct. 12 in a win at North Carolina and he is a dual-threat QB who causes a lot of problems for opposing defenses. After Saturday's 31-13 loss to the Irish, head coach Brent Keys offered a little update on his signal caller.

"You know, it's, you know, you're going to get crazy and say day-to-day, but that's kind of what it is,'' said Keys. "I mean, you know, I don't know. I don't know where it's at as far as... it's not, it's not season-ending. I can tell you that. It's not a season-ending injury. You know, it's going to depend a lot upon just, you know, how quickly you can, you know, react and come, you know, ready, ready to roll."

Whether or not King can play in Blacksburg is going to be a storyline to follow throughout the week as Zach Pyron started in place of King and as expected, he had a difficult day against a Notre Dame defense that had a lot of pressure on him. Expect Pry and defensive coordinator Chris Marve to game plan for both quarterbacks this week.
