When James Franklin was hired as the next football coach at Virginia Tech, you knew a lot of things were going to change on many levels. Whether it was with the roster, coaching staff, hyper or anything else, times were changing in Blacksburg.
One thing that was going to change for the better was the time of ACC games and TV designation. When it came to the ACC opener over the weekend at Boston College, the Hokies and Eagles got a noon kickoff time, which was smart given Virginia Tech has a quick turnaround this week with a Friday night at home against Pittsburgh.
Next on the slate is a trip to Northern California against a Cal team that is 2-2 going into this weekend's non-conference game at UNLV. We all know how the ACC Network loves the late kickoff times on Saturday night when teams visit Stanford and Cal, for the most part. On Monday, the ACC announced the kickoff time for Virginia Tech's trip on Oct. 10 to Berkeley, and it's one that fans will love.

On Monday, the ACC announced the kickoff time for ACC games on Oct. 10, and the Hokies will get a nice 3:30 local kickoff time in Virginia and a 12:30 local kickoff time in California. This is going to be a difficult matchup, trying to slow down California quarterback Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele.
This is a rematch of a game from last October in Blacksburg where the Hokies picked up an overtime victory over the Golden Bears, but a lot has changed since then. Both schools have new head coaches, different looking rosters, but Sagapolutele remains for California and will be looking for some late-night revenge on the Hokies.
The ACC has not assigned a TV network for the game yet, noting it'll be either on ESPN2 or the ACC Network.
