On Saturday night, the Virginia Tech football team officially became bowl-eligible with a dominating 37-17 victory over Virginia to retain the Commonwealth Cup for another season. At 6-6, head coach Brent Pry and his staff get another month of practice and one more game. The question is, where is that game going to be, and against who?
That won't be known until Sunday after the conference championship games are completed this upcoming weekend and the 12-team College Football Playoff Field is announced. Last season Virginia Tech beat Tulane in the Military Bowl and most of the projections following the win over the Cavaliers have the Hokies playing a familiar opponent.

What are the latest bowl projections for Virginia Tech? Well, a lot of them have them heading to the same spot and some are even matching them up with a very familiar foe just one year later. Here are the latest Hokies bowl projections after Week 14.
- Brad Crawford of 247Sports has Virginia Tech slotted for the Wasabi Fenway Bowl at Fenway Park in Boston against Tulane, again.
- Jerry Palm of CBS Sports also has the Hokies going to Boston, but instead of Tulane, he has them matched up with East Carolina.
- In an interesting take, both Kyle Bonagura and Mark Schlabach of ESPN have Virginia Tech also playing at Fenway Park, with Bonagura matching them up with Tulane and Schlabach having them playing Memphis.
- The Sporting News has Virginia Tech going to the Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl against West Virginia out of the Big 12. Yes, please.
- College Football Network has the Hokies playing on New Year's Eve afternoon in the Sun Bowl against Washington out of the Big Ten. Yes, please, take two.
Regardless of where they end up, they get to play one more and work on developing some of the young players on the roster for the future with the key players they are losing following the season.
