The 2024 college football regular season is over and now it's onto bowl season and the transfer portal. The portal officially opens on Dec. 9 and there are expected to be plenty of players going in looking to find a new home for 2025.

Over the last couple of seasons, Virginia Tech coach Brent Pry has had a lot of success with the portal, retaining some of his players and finding key contributors from other schools. Now that the portal is here, keep up to date with the Virginia Tech football transfer portal tracker.

Virginia Tech players entering the portal

Malachi Madison

Defensive tackle Malachi Madison, a redshirt from Chester, Va. is entering the portal after appearing one game this season with one tackle against Stanford. He will head North and play at the University of Massachusetts.

Ishmael Findlayter

A second defensive lineman, Ishmael Findlayter, entered the portal and the Toronto, Canada native has three years remaining of eligibility.

Khurtiss Perry

Just seven months after committing to the Hokies, Perry, an Alabama transfer, will enter the portal again after one season in Blacksburg.

Jordan Tapscott

Redshirt wide receiver Jordan Tapscott will enter the portal.

Keli Lawson

Virgina Tech's linebacker will enter the portal as a redshirt junior.

Jalen Stroman

The Hokies secondary suffers a big loss with one of their better cornerbacks.

Xavier Chaplin

The struggling offensive line suffer a huge loss with Chaplin who committed to Auburn to begin the Virginia Tech to SEC pipeline.

Malachi Thomas

Running back Malachi Thomas is entering the portal with one year of eligibility remaining.

Mose Phillips

Starting safety Mose Phillips entered the transfer portal with two years of eligibility remaining. He will take his talents to Missouri in the SEC.

Gunner Givens

Offensive lineman Gunner Givens entered the portal after seeing very limited time with the Hokies. He was the first of two former Hokies in this cycle to commit to Vanderbilt.

Braelin Moore

Virginia Tech's starting center for the last two years is entering the portal and is another offensive line spot that needs to be filled.

Xayvion Turner-Bradshaw

Wide receiver Xayvion Turner-Bradshaw is entering the portal after falling down the depth chart of a deep position.

Jonathan Pennix

Cornerback Jonathan Pennix is in the portal for the Hokies.

Mansoor Delane

Cornerback Mansoor Delane is entering the transfer portal for his final year of eligibility. He will be heading to the SEC with LSU.

Chance Fitzgerald

Four-star wide receiver Chance Fitzgerald is going to enter the portal after struggling to get on the field with the Hokies. He has committed to Vanderbilt.

Lance Williams

Offensive lineman Lance Williams joins other OL teammates in entering the portal.

Virginia Tech transfer portal addition

Sherrod Covil, Jr.

Covil, Jr. comes to Blacksburg from Clemson and boosts the secondary and safety position.

Terion Stewart

Stewart, a transfer from Bowling Green, committed to the Hokies and gives them an experienced back for 2025.

Marcellous Hawkins

A second running back commit, Hawkins comes from Central Missouri.

Jahzari Priester

Priester, a transfer from Hampton, is going to be a work in progress, but worth taking a shot with for the future.

Tyson Flowers

Flowers, who played at Rice, committed to the Hokies to add depth to their secondary.

Isaiah Brown-Murray

East Carolina's defensive back committed to the Hokies giving them three additions to the secondary this portal cycle.

Joseph Reddish

The brother of current Hokie Quentin committed for more secondary help.
