When Izaiah Pasha entered his freshman year at Delaware, there was not a lot known about him. As the season went along, the Harrisburg, Pa. native became one of the top players for the Blue Hens and in the Colonial Athletic Association. After one year with Delaware, he hit the transfer portal and became one of the more sought-after players.

He took a visit to Virginia Tech and Mike Young, who clearly made him a priority, as there were some guards that the Hokies have been linked to so far in the portal. On Sunday night, he committed to the Hokies, and it became official on Monday morning, giving Young his second transfer portal commitment this cycle.

Virginia Tech picks up portal commitment from Delaware transfer guard Izaiah Pasha

How good was Pasha this season in the CAA? During the regular season, he averaged 11.9 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 3.9 assists a night. When push came to shove in the conference tournament in March, the Blue Hens went on a deep run that saw them close to stealing a bid by coming up short. He averaged 13.4 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 5.8 assists as Delaware came up short in winning the tourney and finished the season at 16-20.

Pasha is a big addition to the Hokies’ roster, as the 6-foot-3 guard can handle the ball and can create his shot. He didn’t shoot the ball well from behind the arc, but he shot his free throws at a 77% clip. He should be a good addition to the backcourt with Ben Hammond.

Pasha is the second portal commit for Young and Virginia Tech, with West Virginia’s Amani Hansberry committing earlier this month. Right now, the Hokies have four players coming back, two commitments, and two incoming freshmen, Sin’Cere Jones and Christian Gurdak, slotted for 2025-26. There should be more portal commitments coming.
