There are going to be some comings and goings from Blacksburg.

Just like there is with every season in all college sports, change is coming for the Virginia Tech softball team this offseason. Pete D'Amour's club made the NCAA Tournament, but was eliminated in the Regionals at LSU. It was a roster where some younger players stepped up and played key roles, especially in the circle.

Virginia Tech went 48-12 on the season, in what was a better season than some thought before it began. It was a frustrating end to the season by the Tigers, but there was a lot to like about this season and going forward.

However, there is bound to be change for 2027 and beyond with the Transfer Portal opening. Just who comes and who goes remains to be seen. You can bet, though, that changes are coming, whether or not D'Amour and fans want to admit it. With that said, here is a Transfer Portal tracker for the Hokies this cycle.

Every Virginia Tech player entering the transfer portal

It wasn't surprising that Charlotte Moore entered the portal. The left-handed hitter played in just four games in 2026 with two at-bats, a walk, and runs scored. She has two years of eligibility remaining and recently posted on her X account that she was committed to Delaware.

One area where the Hokies were young this season was in the circle. Emma Mazzarone, Avery Layton, and Bree Carrico handled a bulk of the actions, but Addyson Fisher appeared in nine games for Virginia Tech. She went 3-0 with a 3.57 ERA in 15.2 innings with 14 hits allowed, 11 runs, and eight earned with 13 strikeouts. Fisher is entering the portal according to D1 Softball. Look for D'Amour to add another pitcher through the portal.
