Don't look now, but the final day of the regular season is here for ACC women's basketball. Several matchups on Sunday are going to play a major role in seeding for the conference tournament this week in Georgia.
Seeding is beginning to fall into place in some areas, but there are still questions as to who will play who and who gets one bye or the coveted double-bye. According to David Cunningham of Tech Sideline, the top three seeds are locked, while the bottom three seeds are locked. The middle is where a lot of the jockeying is going to take place on Sunday. Pittsburgh, SMU, and Boston College are the three teams that are not going to qualify for the tourney this year as the bottom three teams in the standings.
Virginia Tech faces pivotal matchup at Virginia
Virginia Tech is one of the teams that is going to be jockeying for position in the conference tournament and faces a massive game at Virginia. The Hokies beat the Cavaliers last month at home, but since then, UVA has picked up some huge wins, including a stunner at Louisville. Virginia Tech is one of five teams entering play on Sunday at 11-6 in ACC play. Joining them are Virginia, Syracuse, Notre Dame, and Clemson. Tech owns wins over three of those schools, except for Notre Dame, which beat Megan Duffy's team in South Bend earlier this year.
